Insurance hiccups

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how or where we are able to find a "competant person" to assess our awning. During our fortnight away it collapsed during the worst of the weather bending one one pole 90 degrees, twisting the rest of the frame and damaging the fabric. Our insurance says that before we procede we should obtain an assessment of its condition, however, not only do they not have an assessor but they couldnt even state who we should contact. If the car had been damaged the insurance company would tell you who to see. Why is it always caravan insurers who seem to be only interested in your premiums ?.

Hi Marc,

Try your local caravan dealer thay will be only too happy to say it is beyond repair if they think they are going to get a sale out of it.
