Hi everyone.
Currently using a TP Link MR6400 mounted inside my wobbly box and a Poynting omni-directional antenna mounted on the roof just above the door.
The signal inside the van is "acceptable" but outside in the awning, the signal is "dire" to say the least.
Where am I going wrong? and how can I get an improvement in the signal received outside.
The MR 6400 is supposed to be good but I have only "plug and played", no set-up as such. Is this my problem?
Thanks in advance.

Possibly because your caravan body is blocking the signal from the TP link Especially if your caravan has an aluminium skin. When inside the signal doesn't have to find its way out through the bodywork.
Just a thought

Silly question, but are the router inside and whatever you are using outside in the awning on the same cellular network?

They will communicate with each other by WiFi or Bluetooth, so the cellular network is immaterial

I suspect that Mr Plodd is correct, your antenna is unlikely to be the problem.

Try connecting your PC\laptop\tablet or whatever to the TP link using an etherenet LAN cable having RJ45 connectors.
