Invoking Tow Off Rule??

Tried to book a weekend away with the CC via the on line booking service. Realised we wanted to stay a day longer so, because of the fiasco we had booking in the first place, did not want to delete the booking. Instead we chose to book the next day as a single night, even if it meant moving pitch. Received a message "You have invoked the Tow Off Rule" and the single night was not booked. What does this mean please??

This morning (very early) I decided to delete the original booking and try to re-book the dates we wanted. Deleted OK. Not able to re-book on the extended dates, so tried the booking again for the original dates........ guess what, full up!!! within about 10 seconds....hmmmmm.....

I am so fed up with the CC, surely something needs to be done? Trying to get booked up at any time, let alone the favourable dates eg. bank holidays seems to be impossible.

Surely if you picked up the phone and spoke to the nice person called a wardenat the site in question they would have been able to answer your question and probably book the extra night for you.

This happened to us also. I think in the past you could just book an extra night but I think it causes the wardens a headache with the booking when you arrive. This time we rang the booking centre and they just added the extra night on for us.Hope this helps for next time.

Strange, I've just booked for one night at a popular CC site, then next day I added the night before as well with no probs.

Seems that a call to the CC central bookings or the wardens at site is the best bet. I think I'll speak to them about my booking as the last thing I want to do is move the van.

I can't think you'd have to move the van but I may well be wrong. If there was a spare pitch for the night you wanted it would automatically be the one you were parked on unless you were parked on a large or serviced pitch which had been specifically booked for someone else.

the caravan club do not allow certain pitch reservation, its all first come first served so if you book an extra night then there is no reason at all to have to move pitch. we regularely use the burrs at bury for fri and sat night and quite often i will decide to stay on untill monday juat a quick word with the warden to check the site is not full and payment is all thats required.

ive have to admit though the online booking has been a bit of a problem recently, only yesterday i had the booking system often saying it was busy and could not continue and apparently according to the online system every single club site within 100 miles of me is full for easter allready !.
