Hi everybody,

Hubby and I are in a bit of a dilemma, should we go to Spain or Austria.

We are taking our main holiday in September next year and weather wise I suppose it would be better to consider Spain, but it has been a few years since I have been to Austria and wonder what other people have experienced at that time of year.

Perhaps you should get in touch with Mark who posted a question regading a campsite near Villach further down in this forum. Villach is in southern Austria (Carinthia) and that part of the country has a relatively good reputation for decent weather because it's sheltered by the Alps.

Talk about chalk or cheese!!! Austria is beautiful at any time of year. Most of our recent 3 week holiday late August/first half of September was spent in Germany, as far south as being within 50 miles of the Swiss border. The weather was very hot!

We stayed at Nattersee on our way back from Venice ( Ca Savio )and found the toilets etc to be some of the best we have seen. the pitches are round a lake and the views are to die for.

Yes this is a site to die for......I nearly did when we tried to leave. The entrance was very very tight and for our large tein axle !!!!!!!!!. It was a couple of years ago and this may have changed. Do check first. Happy travels BarryB

Just been to Nattersee again in September. Access round the back is rough but wide enough for our 2.30m van. We actually went in the front way (just!). Don't forget the Camping Cheques. Great site.
