Is it just me......

I did experience some problems about 30 minutes ago but put it down to the whisky. However as it appears that others are having similar problems I will have another whisky and let you lot sort it out and I will sit back.

This forum has crashed at least five times since I came on here this evening at approx. 8:00pm. If it happens again tonight I will throw my dummy out of the pram and go elsewhere to find a more interesting and reliable site.

It is now just past 6:30pm on a Wednesday evening and this forum is so pathetically slow that I have been able to make myself a cup of tea whilst waiting for the page to load. Is this forum powered by fuel from Tesco? If it went any slower it would be going backwards. It is even slower than the average Sunday afternoon motorist.

No problem here, I live in Cornwall they say we are slow.

Is this one of those issues without a real answer? The number of people taking up broadband is rising exponentially, so the system will slow. The speed of broadband is increasing , if you are lucky to be in the right area, so download time will reduce. So, as one goes up, the other comes down. The main computers of the Web are in the US so once teatime comes and the US starts to 'play' the whole system cracks. Or is it just the US/UK control freaks at work again, sorry George, didn't mean it so please don't break down my front door.

Probably all the result of global warming, isn't everything these days?

We have 3 laptops working at the same time in my house, all on broadband, daughter in bedroom downloading, hubby on his forum, me on this forum. No problems. Plus other people using same broadband as us. Not causing any problems, only when using skype then it seems to slow down slightly.

P.S perhpas you had better move down here to Cornwall area!!! Liz

And be chased by girl guides driving golf buggies.

My comment was made 'tongue in cheek'but in my area BT advertise that I can receive 8MB download speed, however when I actually check what is available through my line it is 1.5MB and varies significantly with the time of day. I therefore assume that speeds can be relevant to useage, and it definitely slows when the US wakes up.
