Is their much difference between Tow Trust Towbars vs Westfalia Tow Bars.

Hi Guys,

Is their much difference between Tow Trust Towbars vs Westfalia Tow Bars. I had the two quotes:-

· Tow Trust Detachable Swan Neck
· 13pin Caravan Socket
· VW Approved and Dedicated Wiring
· ECU Coding completed in house
· Supplied & Installed £582 inc vat

&

· Westfalia Detachable Swan Neck KIT
· 13pin Caravan Socket
· VW Approved and Dedicated Wiring
· ECU Coding completed in house
· Supplied & Installed £552

A towbar is a towbar, they all have to conform to the various regulations so its up to the purchaser to decide which they want.

As for your two quotes , obviously there is a £30 difference but the reason would probably only be answered by asking the makers, presuming the fitter you got the quotes from charges the same hourly rate for each.

Initially I would go for the £30 saving. But you may want to look at how they engage. Some can be awkward to engage particularly for the less able bodied.

i also got a Westfalia (Exactly Like Ray mention) for my volkswagen tiguan a mobile towbar fitter came to my bungalow , put a 13 pin plug and coded it .
