Hi Guys,

Is their much difference between Tow Trust Towbars vs Westfalia Tow Bars. I had the two quotes:-

· Tow Trust Detachable Swan Neck
· 13pin Caravan Socket
· VW Approved and Dedicated Wiring
· ECU Coding completed in house
· Supplied & Installed £582 inc vat

&

· Westfalia Detachable Swan Neck KIT
· 13pin Caravan Socket
· VW Approved and Dedicated Wiring
· ECU Coding completed in house
· Supplied & Installed £552

A towbar is a towbar, they all have to conform to the various regulations so its up to the purchaser to decide which they want.

As for your two quotes , obviously there is a £30 difference but the reason would probably only be answered by asking the makers, presuming the fitter you got the quotes from charges the same hourly rate for each.

Both are well established brands so it’s really a personal choice. Glad to see you have opted for maker specific electrical kit.

Initially I would go for the £30 saving. But you may want to look at how they engage. Some can be awkward to engage particularly for the less able bodied.

i also got a Westfalia (Exactly Like Ray mention) for my volkswagen tiguan a mobile towbar fitter came to my bungalow , put a 13 pin plug and coded it .
