Hi

Just seen an ad for Isabella's 'Isa-Fix' which replace the wing nut fitting on the poles. Look to be a good idea and wondered if anyone out there had tried them, and if so, what they think of them, and are they easy to fit without too much messing.

We have the isa-fix fitting on our Isabella. We upgraded them when we bought it which basically meant they gave us a big bag with all the new fittings in. We have a carbon-x frame and my hubby and I spent an evening pulling off the wing nuts and pushing on the new fittings.

We ended up with glass fibres in our fingers from the rough edges of the poles and some of them were hard to get off. When you put the new ones on the poles creak and you think they are going to snap but naturally they don't as they are really strong.

Took about 2 days to get rid of fibres from our fingers so I would recommend gloves for protection, do not drink whilst doing it as there are loads to swap and your hands hurt but promise yourself a nice glass of wine when you've finished.

On site they are a doddle but having never had to tighten wing nuts I can't say how much time they save. We have all the wing nuts and I can't see that we would put them back on except when we come to sell the awning as we will keep the isa-fix. Cost us about

Hi Chrissie,

We had these on an anniversary edition special Opus that we bought a couple of years ago and I thought they were great - easier to use than the old wingnuts. And of course there is no wingnut to come off altogether and get lost in the grass. We sold the Opus last Autumn and replaced it with a Magnum bought at the NEC in February. As part of the deal at the NEC they promised to post out Isafix fittings as soon as they came available.

The fittings arrived in May and I put them straight on, it took about
