Hi all

Just had our first trip away with our new van a conquerer 645 TA and awning, everything went well apart from the skirt that covers the wheels was only big enough for a single axle and had press studs on it with nowhere on the van to clip to.Do the isabella awnings only come with a single axle wheel skirt and do they have to be clipped on with press studs? After the money spent on such an awning surely there should be a skirt for a TA aswell as a single axle and a better way to fix something so simple to the van has anybody else came across this problem?

We have also just bought a Magnum awning. Although we have a single axle van we would never use the press studs for the wheel arch cover as it involves drilling holes in the van to accept the mating stud. Being lazy we have just tend to push the cover around the wheel which cuts down most of the drafts. Virtually all awnings are the same and I don't know if any actually cater for the longer distance of a twin axle. A friend of mine with a twin axle obtained a longer white channel strip and a longer skirt which helped cover the twin wheels but like us does not use the press studes. Others on the forum may have some good ideas how to overcome the problem.

Use the Isabella press stud fixing kit.The has the male press stuff and a resin for sticking to the van so no holes drilled, included are sticky labels which hold the stud until the glue dries well though out.

Hi, I bought the Magnum for my twin axle just over a year ago and had the same problem ,so I contacted the dealer I bought it from and he arranged for the larger pelmet and additional joining piece to come direct from Isabella, another frien contacted Isabella direct and got same result ,it appears you are not given the option of Twin axle cover unless you ask

Thanks everyone ill try our dealer first see if he can help out. Its a shame that such a good quality awning is let down by something that seems to be an oversight by isabella.

Thanks again.

Regards fixing to van ,I did not want to screw or stick anything to the side of a new van so I bought some 30mm suction cups and fixed them to were stud are and then they just stick by suction to van without leaving any marks or holes

Not sure aboutthe Swifts but the Bailey Senator range have a hidden channel in the wheel spats that allows you to fix the "Bailey" skirtacross both whels. No studs suckers etc. A very neat efficient job.

Cheers
