We love the Isle of Skye and the kyle of lochalsh. loads to do and see in the area. We like the north of skye - Stein and Dunvegan - there is a lovely pub in the village of Stein which overlooks the sea (the oldest pub on Skye) also skyeskyns is in the same village (craft shop selling sheepskins/crafts). You have the castle at Dunvegan if you like that sort of thing. Scenery wise on skye we also like Kylerhea just south of the bridge where they have the otter sanctuary and beautiful views over to the mainland - you can catch the small ferry over to Glenelg and enjoy a lovely meal at the Glenelg Inn (very nice pub) and then do a round trip back around loch long, past Eilean Dolan castle and back over the bridge to Skye.
Boat trips - Bella Jane Boat trips or there is Callum's boat trips which go from Plockton (with guaranteed seal spotting!!).
Portree is handy for bits and bobs but we found it busy and full of coach trips - so if you can, get out and about in Skye and find a piece of it to yourself.
