Italy to Southern France

It really does depend where on lake maggiore you intend to stay if its Verbania or lower down, you would take the A26 motorway down to the western side of Genoa, there you would pick up the A10, which becomes the A8 once you hit France.
 
I did post a reply about this, but it seems that has become lost in the ether. Anyroadsups: as Johnny G said, but be aware that the A10, along the Med coast, seems to be one tunnel, or bend, after another, so allow plenty of time.
