Being new to caravanning, I honestly thought all caravan jockey wheels were the same size. Well mine needed replacing (worn wheel and the rest of it looking tatty). The van is a Swift Classic Danette, 1999 model. Part of the bracket is welded to the Alco A frame. After buying a new jockey wheel and fitting it, I have now discovered the new one is too small!
I had to use part of the new bracket that came with the new jockey wheel as I discovered part of the old bracket (not attached to the A frame) was cracked. Everything looked ok until I tried to move the van on the driveway when suddenly the jockey wheel slipped through the bracket. Am I back to square one (buy new jockey wheel) or can I make any adjustments to the one I got?
By the way, the wife is giving me grief for getting it wrong
