hi there, well we are a mid 30's couple with 2 boys youngest is 15 month oldest is 6, we recently picked up a swift challenger se cheap to try out caravaning pulled by our piccaso 2.0 hdi, we got the van on the cheap before splashing out on a bigger one, only a 2/3 berth but with the kids still being little we all fit fine in the large bed once its made up and the awnings set up for sitting in on evenings.

Now we are both hooked we are on the look out for a 4/5 berth possibly end bedroon/bunks for kids and double up front (any suggestions budget 4k tops at mo...well it is credit crunch so the purse strings are tight!)

Hi Steve

glad you've got the bug.

On the 4/5 berth van , we've just purchased a new Elddis Avante Club 505 which has the rear lounge that converts into a huge double bed and a bunk over top.

Whilst its not in your budget they have made this layout for a while now so there may be some used examples out there.

We preferred this to fixed bunks as having a second seating area means we can choose to either sit in the front and watch telly or the back and read a book or play games. Also we can leave the bed made up if we wanted too. My wife has MS so having a place for her to rest away from me and little one is ideal.

good luck
