Just test driven a Volvo S80 D5 but whats it really like?

Hi forum

Just been out test driving a S80 2.4 D5 and was wondering if anyone has one of these are had one and what's it like for towing. I have a Bailey Auvergne 1396kg. Looked up the what tow war website which gave the car 5 amber stars. Any advice would be appreciated?

Hi Terence,

I have a V70 D5 AWD towing a twin axle Bailey Senator & its brill. Being AWD it has a 6 speed gearbox & with cruise control set is happy on motorway & up & down hills ec. I would assume the S80 would be much the same as its the same engine for torque etc, the only difference is its a saloon instead of an estate. Hope someone replies who drives a S80 togive you a definate answer.

hi friend of mine has S80,D5,eally disapointed with fuel consumption,doesnt tow,poor soul,but states he,s lucky to get 34 miles to gallon,not much more than his previous petrol volvo
