The Kampa has 2 piece uprights plus 2 logitudinal rafter poles(.Instructions for erection are on www.Kampa.co.uk Rally 2010 )The Sunncamp has 3 Flexible 1 piece uprights. ( Instructions are on www.Sunnflair.com)
The Rally has 2 optional uprights which a lot of people use and these are included on some Sunncamp Optima models.
The rally poles are fitted by inseting one pice in the roff and then attaching a down pole with outside attachments. The Sunncamps are pushed in to a sewn in tube the hight and width of the awning. If you go on to You Tube and put in Sunncamp optima you will find a few films , one of wich shows the Erection procedure. I can also find some films of Kampa Rally , worth alook.
Both still have the job of pegging out which I also find tedious and as both are of good quality are about 17 kilos. If you need a lighter awning to put up , there are lighter awnings from other manufacturers.

Thanks for your input much appreciated, we have lightweight Sun camp one, just wondered if the Kampa ones were harder to erect. They look alot sturdier.
Thanks

I have the Kampa Rally 260 and I'm very pleased with it. I did have a SunnCamp before this but find this one just as easy to erect and because of the design, the front being higher, you have more room inside. Also the front legs are adjustable which makes it great if the pitch isn't level. Just alter the legs accordingly.
We did buy the upright buffer poles, storm straps and 2 monsoon poles which are extra's and it stood up to last Septembers gales with no problems.
A word of warning if you do get one. Grease the metal adjustable poles at the bottom else they will rust. Look on the internet for the cheapest prices because I saved about £80 on the price they were asking at a caravan dealers we visited.
We are very pleased with ours and after I've recommended them before on here others have bought them and are also pleased.
I wish I was on a commission
