Kampa Rally 390 Air.

Hi Guys
Just purchased one of these new Kampa Rally 390 Air awnings that inflate with a pump, at first i was sceptical and thinking if a cat goes remotely anywhere near it is gonna get punctured but had a look at one already erected at Camperlands Manchester and the airframe tubes are very very thick about on par with the rib on an RNLI lifeboat, so i was very impressed on how rigid they are.
Have any other members already got one of these that can comment on them after use and perhaps give me some tips, i am thinking of purchasing the rear upright poles to affix the sides to the van and was wondering if they are worth purchasing or leave as is.
Any help/tips most welcomed.
Tony

Hi Auspom. I have been looking at getting one of these also and on first impression from the one I have seen the air poles really seem to be sturdy. The price is just putting me off at the moment because we have only last year bought a new porch awning so I am considering advertising that for sale towards the Kampa one. I presume that prices will be high for quite a while our local dealer has got four on order and all sold with people asking about his showroom demo model.
The main point I would like to make is that a lot of manufacturers offer back poles as an option at extra cost and it strikes me that if they feel the need to recommend them then I believe they should be included in the initial sale. Especially with this particular model it is quite pricey.
Anyway I hope you go on ok with it and keep us posted, I hope you will be attempting the four minutes that is regarded as the pitching time.
Regards Brian

Would be interested to see how it copes with a four inch of snow on top ??
Would it collapse inwards ??
Reason i am asking is that yesterday we had to take ours down due to the sudden onsett of heavy sleety snow, there was so much weight we would have had a problem if we had not been in the van to take it down strait away...
The problem with mine is the large unsuported roof area, rain is not a problem, but get 3.5mts x 2.5mts x 6cms of snow & you are looking at about .5 cubic meter of wet snow just sitting there ........
Don't know how heavy snow is

In fairness Sprocket think snow would be a problem for most lightweight awnings, mine in paticular which is a ------Kampa

Would have been a good weekend up here to test one ........

We are going up to Scotland ( Tummel Valley ) in four weeks time my awning will be staying at home.
But if anyone would like me to test one of these new blow-up Kampa's for them for free it could be arranged

I Have been in touch with White Arches regarding the Kampa 390 Air. Would seem they are a good seller if i order one now £200 deposit is required and should have one sometime in May or June.Might have to check somewhere for stock
Sir Roger

Do you get much condensation in these awnings,I ask because we had a cheap dome awning for the odd weekend which was pretty wet overnight.Didnt mind for £50 but for £600 thats a bit different. We don't get any with the Isabella but its a bit of a slog putting it up for a weekend.
