Hi all, i was looking for a porch awning bigger than my current sunncamp scenic plus and was wondering which was the better buy the sunncamp 260 or the kampa rally 260. they look quite similar but the kampa is slightly bigger and about £50 more, i like the look of the kampa and was wondering what your veiws were of the two.I have read reports about the sunncamp poles denting the top of the caravan, not sure whether this happens with the kampa. all your views will be greatly appreiciated, cheers mike.

Well Michael,

I have just purchsaed Kampa Rally 260, previous porch was the sunncamp 260 which needed replacing.

Depending where you purchase the kampa is the same price as the 2009 version of the sunncamp 260.

Spent the last four days at Ferrymeadows to try out the Kampa.

Erection of the kampa compared to the sunncamp was easy, the Kampa has qty three poles but are in two parts, the top half flexy poles bottom half are steel that have adjustable feet which enables the side of the awning to fit snug against the side of the caravan.

They come complete with a thick pad part of the awning that you can attach steel upright poles (extra price)behind to which makes a very secure fit to the side of the awning.

They are 10cm wider than the sunncamp, also come in three colours red, blue or green.

I liked the fixing of the awning the straps are on the outside easy for fixing to the ground , the skirts tuck inwards , my previos sunncamp was the reverse with the straps on the inside when banging the steel pins into the ground always had the inside of the awning in my face.

We decided on the Kampa after all because the quality looked good and it looked well made.We are going away next week to Troutbeck Head where we will give it a try, thanks for your reply Royston, cheers Mike.

We have the Kampa Rally 260 too. Used it a couple of times though not in the rain yet. Agree with Royston. The seal against the caravan sides with the extra poles is good. We've decided not to buy a full-size awning after all.
