Keeping a tourer on a site for most of the year.

Ideally the Lake District, or maybe somewhere on Yorkshires East Coast, I'm looking for a site that allows to you to park up for most of the year.

Any recommendations? What sort of cost is involved for A Bailey Ranger 6m? Is insurance an issue? Is security a problem?

Hi Richard,

you're only allowed to keep your van pitched on any site for a maximum of 28 days. It's best to find a site that also provides storage and you pay a fiver or so for your van to be moved to a pitch when required. I know there are a few CC&C sites that provide this service, and I believe, it's around

What you want is whats known as a seasonal pitch. We have one with the CC,insurance is with them so, it's covered whilst on site. This pitch is from March 14th to October 31st this year. You only have to move caraven from pitch for a minimum of 24 hrs between May & September. We could have had an all year pitch but locations where that was available are all 5-6 hrs drive from us.
