keeping baby safe

Hi

We have an Elddis avente 534 (2001) and have 2 children and need someway to stop our 1yr old from rolling off the bed (seat). The normal bed guards for single beds are too wide to fit under the cushions !! Has anyone got any suggestions ??

I use a bed guard from Argos which does fit under the seat cushion (argos item number is 376/0268 also in blue) or 348/9178 which is a sleeping bag with infaltable tubes down each side so you can roll out.

Hope this helps

Tony,

Not sure of your layout but we have a 4 berth side dinette and our daughter slept on the bottom bunk. When she was very young I simply put a spare piece of laminate flooring in between the cushions and the wooden sides of the dinette seats. This was high enough to stop her rolling out between the gap in the middle.

As she grew older I just made a higher side from MDF which ran almost the full length of the bed. It hinged in the middle so it would fold in half and easily fit under the seat in the lounge when not in use.

The cushions held the bed side securely against the sides of the dinette seats and kept her safe.

Hope this helps.

Mark.

When our's were small I made a material guard for the top bunk from a rectangle of tent window mesh with taped edges. It was clipped to the bed base with poppers, and with two straps to two poppers at the ends to the underside of the top lockers. When not in use it rolled up to nothing and stored within the bunk when stowed. Maybe you could fashion something similar.

Alternatively buy a rectangle of foam to put on the floor beside the bed - for a softer landing!
