Keeping windows clean and scratch free

After years of second hand vans we took delivery of our new Elddis 2011 Sussex Caravans special edition 'van in March. I need to clean the windows but would like to know if it best to use warm soapy water and a chamois or should I use any special products? I have never had completely scratch free windows before and am really keen to keep them that way. Any advice would be gratefully received.
Thanks!

Hi Pippen,
Well done on the new van. Now, how to keep the windows clean and free from scratches! I'm tempted to say forget it because no matter how hard you try the windows will get scratched. I'm sure just giving them a hard look scratches them.
To try and minimise scratches when washing I use plenty of water first, give them a good hose down, then a soft clean cloth with plenty of clean water & a little Fenwicks (or similar) followed by a hose down again. Still managed to get some very light scratches but not sure if they were from washing or just everyday driving down leafy lanes.
Last year, despite vowing never to try the product, I tried one of the waterless cleaning products - Greased Lighning Showroom Shine - I was very impressed with it. Supposed to be safe on all surfaces. I did try it on the caravan and eventually on the windows. Can only say it does exactly what it says on the tin (o.k. on the big jar). Might be the answer.
Robert
