Can't tell you about that site, but that area is stunning - very dramatic. The small towns can be busy but the walking is fantastic. Hope you have a great time - Scotland is also fantastic. We are so lucky that there is so much to explore in the UK!

this site is fabulous. the location is stunning. lots to do. you can walk to the town, to the supermarket, to the bus station and get a rover bus any where you like. the views are breathtaking, we only stayed a week and didnt have time to see what we wanted . there are walks directly from the site. or you can get a boat around derwentwater, you can hire bikes in the town there is a nice leisure centre also.we went last june spring bank holiday and had lovely weather. visit the tourist information in keswick and you will find a list of guided walks that start from there. im sure i havent told you everything but may be others will add to this list.

FABULOUS! Where do I start? We went for two weeks last summer (had lots of rain) and had a great time. Our three kids (boys 12 and 8, girl 6) took the dinghy on the lake on the fine days. The lake is really shallow for a long way out so it's brilliant for kids. Take old trainers to wear in the water as it's very stony underfoot! Views from the site were spectacular and the area was beautiful. You can walk into the town in approx. 10 mins. No car parking to pay for or the hassle of taking the car. There's a supermaket just out of the site driveway and plenty of great places to eat (including the rugby club at the site entrance). In three years of 'vanning this has to be one of our favourite sites, can't wait to go back!!! Husband and eldest son fished the river, that runs round the site, nearly every night while the two youngest made lots of friends on the play area. Only bad point is; with all that water surrounding it the site is prone to flooding. We left on the Monday and on the Friday the site was evacuated. Would recommend this site to anybody. If you need more info. just let me know. Have a great season, Manda.
