As i am looking to change my towcar soon i have been looking at a kia sorento, a lot of car for the money and great towing reviews, the only thing that is putting me off at the moment is that i have been told by a number of mechanic friends that the cost of parts should anything need replacing, are usually quite overpriced. Are there any sorento drivers that can put my mind at rest ?

Hi, we have had 2 sorentos, both from new, neither have had any repair work other than servicing, extremely reliable, and servicing is very reasonable compared to other makes in its class!

Hope this helps, Andrew.

Hi,

I have an 04 XS auto and it's been totally trouble free. The main dealer service charges are far less per hour than my prevoius LR TD5 and the cost of servicing is less than for the TD5. If you look at warranty directs site you can see the overall view on reliability and average repair charges. Also the Kia UK Forum is agood site to look at as you will get a view of different opinions of the Sorento. I don't regret sellinga 4 yaer old TD5 that gave nothing but problems for the Kia. My most difficult decision will be that when I go down to one car the Kia's 30-32mpg and 22 towing means something more economical will be needed. So I am defering that decision into 2009 at the earliest!

Hi Marky

Have a look at "uksorento.com" the Sorrie owners web site. There are more than 1700 of us and whatever you want to know is there.

Our Sorrie is a july 2005 now on 56k miles. Apart from services and a problem with the clock she's never missed a beat. One hell of a lot of car for the money.

Cheers

Alan

Alan I have always been a good supporter of Ford vehicles. My last 2 cars being Mondeo disels and they were both first class.I wanted a change and some of the xtras I wanted on the new vehicle,Disel, automatic, cruise control, sun roof, leather interior. higher seating position. After extensive searching the oly car in my price range was the Kia Sorento. So I purchased a new Sorento and it tows my van superbly also if you have a light right foot its not to bad on the mpg.So look around see whats best for you and go for it.You should also get some good discounts from the dealers at present.
