Thinking of swapping our Lexus rx350 auto and looking at the Kia sportage. The caravan club match site says this will tow our coachman with the caution that its 92% ratio. Is anyone out there towing with this car and we would welcome any comments. The alternative would be a Sorento or Volvo XC60 2 wheel drive.Hubby and I are looking for better economy although we have towed with the lexus for 5 years with no problems, the new hybrid is too expensive.

If it was us we would stick with the Lexus as ultimately you will not be saving on fuel due to the expense of buying another vehicle. The Lexus is a good relaible car and IMHO we would not downgrade, however it is your choice.carolyn S said:

Friends of ours have recently bought a Sportage which is a nice car but they dont tow so I cannot comment on that score. What persuaded them towards the Kia was its 7 year warranty and low depreciation combined with a good reliabilty record. But they are the sort who only cahnge cars when the life has droped out of their old one. So as said above depreciation is the greatest cost to ownership and those who change cars more often will pay more. I had an earlier Sorento for 7 years and still get grief from my wife for changing it. Im now trying to convince her that a Subaru WRX Impreza would make a nice runaround!

We have a Sportage on 58 plate, had it four years without a problem only thing replaced have been tyres. Tows our van with ease (Bailey Pagent Sancere), also towed few other vans when helping friends again without any problem. We were impressed with the 7 year warranty. When we come to change will look at Kia's again
