I discovered KIPOR generators during a web search. They're like the Honda EU10, ie very quiet (54dB), but a lot cheaper. £190 for the modified sine wave version and £250 for a true sine wave output.

Has anyone got one? How reliable are they?

Hi Roger, Yes i have Kipor 2000ti, i use when I'm servicing caravans on storeage sites without electric, it runs fairly quite, with enough output to test fire, fridge and water heater at the same time, as you can imagine it's lives in the back of my van so gets a fair few knocks but it has'nt let me down yet.

I have the 2000ti [yellow one] Got an excellent deal at peak generators. Not been used too much yet but it is for rallies and performs very well and was a third of the price of a Honda eu20i!! There are three others in our owners club so it was recommended to me.

I seem to remember reading something a few weeks ago (in one ofthe many caravan / motorhome magazines) that this is a 'copy' of the Honda and Honda arn't that happy about it (a bit ironic when you consider they started in buisness copying our motorbikes). Something to do with the way the inverter technology works I think. Anyway, the article mentioned something about Honda forcing this other company to stop production. I only bring this up as this may bring problems in the future when wanting replacement parts.

I have the 2000ti and its the bee's knee's

Can power everything I need including the air con and it excellent quality.

As for honda trying to stop production. They are built in the same factory and the orginal restriction on Kipor using the technology has expired so they can produce them if they want.

If you are running a modern van or anything like a LCD TV, laptop etc then get the yellow one. it's power output is cleaner and more stable than the mains you get at home
