Hi I need some advice on the above please. I need this jack so that I can fit my Al-ko secure lock when at home. Unfortunately there is no room at home to use my trolley jack. I just cannot reach a suitable jacking point! I therefor have to use the Kojack. Due to wires, pipes, the Al-ko spare wheel etc I need to know the dimensions of the brackets to include the distance between the bolt holes and the outside of the bracket. Can any one help?

Many thanks.

Hello. I'm not sure if this will be of any help but the dimensions of the jacking plates supplied with mine are as follows?

Overall width. 76mm
Height. 155 mm
Width of gap for jack head insert. 28mm
Bolt centres. 55mm

Be aware I've just measured these by laying under the van so not brilliantly accurate.

I have taken a picture and loaded it into photo bucket. But am unable to fathom out exactly how to post it.

Just a point I'm not sure how you intend mounting your jacking points but the chassis on my van has holes pre formed in the correct place at either side of the van.

I think there could be some issues to consider if you intend drilling the chassis on yours.
I'm sure some of the more informed members of the forum will help when they spot your post.
I hope the dimensions I've posted will be some guide.

Hi Brian thank thanks for the information much appreciated. I take it that the part of the bracket that fits against the underside of the floor is also 76mm wide. Did you need to move any wires to fit it? The chassis on my van has the pre drilled holes. There do seem to be two types of brackets around. Can you tell me what type you have?

Many thanks again.

This is the one I have. The other side I had pipes to ease out of the way whilst fitting but no real problem.
I use the one in the picture occasionally for the same reason as you.
To fit the wheel lock.

The brackets are first class. The orange purple line Chinese or whatever Oriental origin are rubbish.
A 2 tonne bottle jack for under £20 is available in the High street.

I had 2 Kojack bottle jacks the first one collapsed suddenly the 2nd time it was used as the seal went spraying oil around, it was taken back to the supplier who exchanged it for another this one did the same the 3rd time it was used, not used on a large caravan , decided not to risk another so got my money back and purchased a Alko side lift jack not had any issues with that.

The Kojack jacks are dangerous, mine collapsed on it's first use. I contacted Purpleline, whose had the cheek to suggest I buy a seal kit for £10. The jack went to the local recycle yard. The brackets are brilliant, but I need to find a jack that can utilise them? Any ideas guys?

It's far easier to control and I use it from the vans own battery & it won't collapse ;)

Hi and thanks to everyone for their comments. I have managed to to buy two Kojack brackets without the bottle jack and have fitted to the van. Now I am on the search for a small bottle jack from one of the local companies preferably a low profile one which will be good enough not only to lift the van but also the car.

Once more thanks for the advice.

Thanks Sprocket,
That jack looks ideal!! I have watch a youtube video and think I will get one. Thankfully no seals to perish or oil to leak.
