We have one and it is very good, makes levelling so much easier and quicker, it is best to put wood or something underneath when you lift because they can dig into the ground under the caravan weight.

I have one and its very easy to lift the van with it

It also fits the side mounting points on the X Trail and with the polystyrene removed fits the space in the car boot so only one jack needs to be carried

Its very important to get down on the ground and make sure that the jack is correctly engaged with the raised part across the receiver otherwise it will flirt our sideways when under load as has happened twice to me !!

Hi John - would your X-Trail jack not do for your caravan too as presumably the Nissan jack is designed for a heavier lift? I've always just carried a bottle jack but had thought I might get away with using the Rav4 jack from my car should I have the need in future. Haven't checked for suitable location points, if any, on my Elddis as yet.

Hi RUSure

I haven't tried the Nissan jack for 2 reasons

1 I didn't have the Kojack brackets fitted to the van before I bought the Kojack

2 The Kojack is very easy to use being hydraulic and raises the car and van with ease

Remember the car jack is only deigned to lift one wheel at a time whereas the Kojack is designed to lift half a caravan

Hi Ernest

I've seen the advert for the bottle Kojack and it looks as though it uses the same brackets

When you compare it with a bottle jack without the brackets elsewhere it seems very expensive

Hi. I have a notion for the Kojack lite. I had a look at the Purple Line web site. In the FAQ page it states the minimum height of 125mm will go under a deflated tyre OK. On the specification page for the jack it states the minimum height is 170mm. I contacted Purple Line on their web page to check which is correct but so far I have not been blessed with a reply. Purple Line also say that if the mounting holes for their brackets are covered by the spare wheel carrier "it can be moved to one side" Any comments anyone. Happy New Year everyone. Henry.

Re 'moving to one side' I'm assuming it is the spare wheel carrier that can be moved to one side and not the jacking plates, as the plates need to use the pre-defined holes.

Hello. You are right Woodlands camper, it's the spare wheel carrier. The off side is OK as the mounting holes for the Kojack bracket are clear of the wheel carrier, but in the near side, the plate on the carrier which screws on to the chassis is almost touching the mounting holes for the bracket. Henry.

We lost a van wheel a few months ago and the RAC man came to the van but could not get his jack under the stronger part of the chassis

He jacked towards the rear and only needed to raise the van body a small amount before the Kojack could be got under its jacking point to do the main lifting with no wheel on at all
