L Shape Lounges

I have recently purchased a Compass 634 with an L shaped lounge.

Its the first time I have had this layout and find it strange that there is not a convient sized free standing table in similar materials to the van furniture, as opposed to the large dinning table.

Does anyone know if you can purchase a small single pedastal type table, I have seen a triangular shaped one in a Swift Conquerer but not sure if that was purchased or part of the caravan std equipment.

Thanks, John

Hi John

I too have an 'L' shaped lounge and I must admit I could do with somewhere safe to rest a beer/glass/cup as I'm lounging. Its only a matter of time before its knocked over damaging the upholstery. The tables ok for mealtimes but too big at the rest of the time.

If anybody sells a contraption such as a clamp that could be attached to a piece of furniture with a bendy arm/attachment that could have a variety of different endings then I'd be interested. If not, I've just invented it.

John,

We also have an L shaped lounge which we love, unfortunately there seem to be fewer and fewer around. Don't know what we'll go for when it comes to renewing the 'van.

Ikea do a small folding table which we find ideal. The table top splits into two halfs and folds flat. It then slides neatly below one of the under seat lockers. I can't remember the name of it just now (who can remember Ikea names for anything) but I could try to find out if you're interested.

We have an Elddis Odyssey 524L. We have purchased a small wooden fold-flat table from Dunelm. It only cost a few pounds and blends in with the Caravan furniture. The op is apporx. 20" square and is just a nice height to eat meals off as well instead of putting the full table up. Its also somewhere to rest your glass & nibbles in the evening in front of the TV ! Just put it away in the table storage later when you go to bed. Bye the way, when in bed I too end up under the front windows and I find there is just enough room to put my mug of tea without fouling the blind. Hpe this helps with the query raised elsewhere.

Hi John

I have a fleetwood volante with a L shaped seat unit and same as you a single pedestal tube that fits into the floor with a round table on top.Like you the round table is too big for cups and snacks as it is heavy and restricts movement. What I did was to rescue one of those bedside tables that was so popular about 10 years ago in those little magazines from our garage.I took all the metal pieces of it so I had roughly a rectangular tray which was about half the size of the supplied round table.I bought an aluminium fitment similar to the one on the round table for

Hi John, if you search through other postings, someone deviced a shelf that fits over the curtain rail in the front window where you can rest tea etc. We have an L shaped lounge and find this very useful. If we have friends in the van, we usually bring in the small plastic table that we use outside. Helen.
