Hi,

Occasionally I read letters in Caravan mags. of Lady Caravanners, but have not ever met any on my travels. Would anyone be interested to meet up to exchange travel experiences?

If there is lots of interest I wondered whether this coud develop into a Ladies Caravan Club.

We have quite a few Ladies that are on there own in our Club,I know of two in Suffolk, one in Essex,Yorkshire,Bedford,Norfolk, and they all tow caravans,

Also a club for people like yourself that is on there own maybe could be The loners club, Havent got the details here but if you do a google search you will find it,Good luck. Eddie

Thanks Eddie, You did not mention which club you belong to.

Hanneke
Me i live in Suffolk and i am in the CCCF and that is the christian caravan and camping club, I know thats not for everybody but we have over 400 in Uk,with local weekend rallys, weekly rallys and one big National rally,it was better for me on my own than the caravan club one,

Marg and me were on a site in Northumberland not long ago. There were two ladies together in a camper van. Only one drove but she was good. They were very friendly and chatty. After a couple of days they skillfully backed the van up to the motorhome dump point and the driver did the nessesaries. They then drove off smiling and waving whilst flattening the one-way notice and snapping the stake off at ground level. I don't really know why i'm relating this story but i did laugh uncontolably at the time. Sorry.

Hi

Althought not a lone lady camper, I do tow the caravan and camp with out my husband, especially if I want to get out on to the field early we tend to camp with out facilities. We have a friend who is a Lady camper and she is quite at home in our group, we camp with Solent DA which is in the southern part of England and part of the Camping and Caravanning Club. I have often heard our friend express a problem with her caravan and seen with in 5 min a group of males going to help the damsel in distress. I have found campers on the whole a very friendly and helpfull bunch do not be afraid to go for it.

Good luck to Hanneke or any other solo female caravaner. Do not be intimidated thinking that towing and siting is a man's thing. Go for it and enjoy yourself. However if you do need help in siting or putting the awning up do not be afraid to ask for help as I am sure the average caravanner be it male or female would be only too willing to help. Have a great time and enjoy your selves.
