We are thinking of visiting this part of Italy in May/June next year. Is the weather good in early summer? Which is the best side of the lake, East or West? As we have not been to Italy before, are there any tips that anyone can share to make our stay as good as possible? Has anyone a favourite campsite in this area? Lots of questions I know, but any help would be much appreciated.

the lake is in the Lombard region to the east and piedmont to the west and indeed Switzerland to the north. west seems the more favoured.

weather may/June . better chance of very good weather the later you go as the Alps do offer some protection from cold fronts coming south, but there is never a 100% guarantee.
