Lake view campsite for Half Term

Hi

Can anyone recommend any good peaceful sites with a lake view and preferably near to a lake in the Central North/North west of England/North/ Mid Wales for us and our twin-axle van. We're based on Merseyside and would hope to travel up to 3 hours maximum

We're looking for somewhere for Half-Term week 22-30 October. There's just the 2 of us + Max the collie. Recent job uncertainties, including both of us having been made redundant, have made it difficult to book earlier. We are both now working as supply teachers so have to stick to School hols.

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Tim and Cary

I go to Brighouse Bay near Kirkcudbright for 1/2 term most years, its a 3 hour drive from where you are and if a sea view will do for you you will definatly get in.

hi, why not try, Castlerigg Hall, Keswick, beautiful lake and surrounding mountain views we stayed there this summer and loved it,all hardstanding pitches with electric hook up and most with water and drainage too. it is approx 1 mile up hill out of Keswick but the views and surroundings are worth it. their website is www.castlerigg.co.uk

Thanks everyone who made suggestions

I tried all the sites in the Lakes but they were all fully booked.

I have finally got a place booked at Gibraltar Farm, Silverdale, Lancs. It seems to have a good view of Morecamber Bay and promises a simple but peaceful break.

Has anyone been there. I'd be particularly interested to hear what it's like at this time of year.

Thanks again

Tim
