The site itself is quite open and has good views, since it has been re developed recently the toilet blocks and pitches are pristine. There is a row of super pitches that have been installed these are some of the best on the site but cost extra at least you are guarenteed a good pitch if you pre book one.

There is also a small games room with pool table at the bottom of the site near to the caravan storage area.

Walking off site is a bit of a problem due to narrow roads and no footpaths but don't let this put you off just be careful.

We stayed a week last June during the flooding period.

As previous reply, could not fault facilities they are very good.

If you want to go anyware, its a car job all the time due to the roads in the area,I managed to clock up some 400 miles that week, this was also due to the weather, its was appaling.

You can walk to the pub on the river,we did once when it stopped raining, but needed wellies as it was very muddy. The pub was rather good, and the food fine.

One warning, beware of the flies due to local lake, they can be annoying. They sell swatters at reception, and we need one.

Jo-anne we live 15 miles from Lakeside and staid there last w/e for the b/h very nice site with some superb views. Tiverton 15 miles lovely canal walks and a canal boat trip with horse drawn barge, swimming pool nice chinese and indian resturants. Theres a good pub for food just outside Tivi called the Globe inn. Tar steps is a lovely place to visit 15 mins by car. Minehead is only 25 miles to the north and barnstaple 35 miles west. Exmoor is great if you like walking and site seeing, if not car jouneys every day to get about.
