Lakeside Holiday Park, Chichester

We are going to a wedding near Chichester in July and are horrified by the cost of hotels and B&Bs for 2 nights. I see that Lakeside is in the ACSI book, so should be even cheaper than the quote on their web page. Has anyone stayed there? What is it like? As we are going to a wedding, we would want good washing facilities and we plan to get a taxi to the wedding, which is on the Selsey side.
Are there any other sites you would recommend? We don't want to be too far from the wedding venue and this one looks about as close as we can get.

Hi Jo we stayed there 4 years ago and was not impressed . We were put near the main road and the noise was terrible, we put the radio on at night to try and deaden the noise but to no avail. Half the pitches were seasonal with lots of work vans which looked more like permanent homes. Tents seem to have a better location and more space. Did not use any facilities so cannot comment on them toilets/showers had water every where. We had booked and paid for 2 nights but only stayed the one night . If you are away all day and only sleeping over for one night providing not near main road you should be OK.
Scotts Farm at Wittering has brilliant showers/wash facilities. There are a few camp site at Wittering and may be a better option if not too far away from Chichester. Hope this helps. Carol

Hi Carol,
Thanks for your response. However, we have bitten the bullet & booked for 2 nights anyway. The wedding is literally just the other side of the lakes at Hunston, so the Witterings would be too far. Road noise doesn't really worry us, as we live by a main road anyway and I always wear ear plugs at nights (he snores, you know!).
Thanks anyway.
Jo
