Landrover Disco 2004 TD5 Auto or Manual?

So it sounds like the older Disco is a fairly safe bet if well maintained but whats better for towing the Auto or the Manual. Also which will be less likely to need attention over time? ( i.e will auto box be more likely to cause less trouble?).
 
It's really down to personal choice. I've towed with both auto and manual and prefer auto especially when in heavy traffic or pitching up. The Disco 2 auto is robust and if well maintained gives little trouble while the manual has a DMF that can be problematic but solid flywheel are now available. Your choice.
