Landrover fuse blown

Hi some friends were telling us of how on a recent trip to Cornwall they found they had no electrics on the caravan when they came to hitch up to come home.
Landrover assist unfortunately couldn't get to them at the time so arranged for the AA to help.
On arriving the AA guy found the supply fuse to the caravan electrics in the Landrover had blown.
Obviously it was replaced and they towed home without problems, so they're surmising it blew on the way to Cornwell.
They tow a Mk 1 Unicorn Almeria and are wondering if the bigger fridge in this model could have caused the problem.
Since they've never had this problem before whilst towing on quite a few trips they're obviously a bit surprised.
I wonder if anyone's had a similar experience?

I was once next door to a chap who blew the fuse on a Rover 75 and towed to the site without lights. We were chatting as we had identical cars. He didn't know where to look for the fuses, so I offered my assistance. Fuse duly replaced, he blew it again immediately. His mistake was that he switched the lights on (side, head, rear fog, and indicators) and with them all on, plugged n the caravan! Pop! Caravan left plugged in, all lights off, and fuse replaced again. Lights then switched on in turn and no further problems.
