Just tried to book somewhere for the august bank holiday weekend (next weekend) had been unable to book before now as didnt know if I would have work commitments.

Anyway we fancied something not to far from home, near the coast, so have just spent a very fustrating evening with head in both C&CC and CC site guides, have tried most the CC's and CL's anywhere near the east coast froma Flamborough down to Skegness also tried a few commercial sites as well as the main C&CC and CC sites.

Could find nothing anywhere, all full, I guess these days it must be impossible to just hitch up the caravan and go somewhere last minuite.

So have now given up.......

Maybe I should have just booked a C&Cc or CC site earlier on in the year and then just not turned up if my work didnt allow it, as I am told (on the grapevine) that that happens a lot.

Anyone know of any free east coast(ish) pitches ???

regards

Mark

Mark, I'm not sure where you live, but have you thought about a temporary holiday site? Look in the C&CC Out and About brochure, we're going to one in Devon next week for a few days before going on to the NFOL in Exeter.

Some of them are held on rally fields on commercial camp sites, a lot of them don't need to be booked you just turn up. A couple of years ago we stayed at a really nice one in Cornwall, had use of the campsite facilities for a fraction of the cost, the DA that ran that one told us they had never turned anyone away.

Good Luck Jog
