Leaking awning rail?

We've just discovered that our awning rail leaks.

Surprisingly enough after a (well several actually) torrential downpours!! The water is running down the side of the van in two or three places and managing to drip/run onto and underneath the awning carpet. We are going to re-seal the rail but am I right in thinking that the rail is purely external and I shouldn't be worrying about water getting inside the van? We are on a seasonal pitch and the awning is left up all through the season. The van is still under warranty (it's a 2008/9 Compass Rallye 650) but I'm not sure if a leaking awning rail counts as water ingress??!! I'd appreciate any advice, including about re-sealing the awning rail. Thanks in advance.

It could just be that the awning rail has opened up slightly allowing water to pass the awning bead. Can you see daylight in the leaking area if you pull the awning bead away from the rail. Do you have any water inside the van or is it just in the awning.

Can't see daylight through awning rail, and no leaks/damp in van (thank goodness)
Could be high winds have pulled it away slightly while awning is attached.

Think you may be right about the awning rail, possible cause could be the wind pulling on the actual rail and spreading the actual channel, my rail seems wider on my latest van, so I'm going to start a new topic and ask if there is a special tool is availible. Keep a look out.
