Leaking Isabella Awning

I have an Isabella Capri Awning which is 12 years old, and has been extensively used in ALL types of weather conditions.

Unfortunately it has now started to leak along the seams adjacent to the main roof stays. (I have noticed that the stitching has degraded slightly, probable due to age and sunlight).

Does anybody have any ideas of a suitable cheap spray sealant on the market that may do the job of sealing the seamwork.

I know that Isabella recommend a product called Aquatex and that Nikwax is another similar product, however these 'solutions' are all priced in the region of £7.00 or £9.00.

As I only need a small quantity, it seems a lot to pay.

I guess I should be pleased considering the lengh of time that I've had the awning and the service it has given over the years, but a fix would be really appreciated !!

Jaym,

I would buy the product recommended by Isabella and then re-seal all of the seams.

Only re-sealing the area that is leaking at present would be a waste of time and effort, as sooner or later another area will encounter the same problem,

best regards, Martin

if it is only leaking along the stitched seams then you need a seam sealer which usually comes in a tube not a reproofer which is sprayed or painted on

Hi Tony,

That looks like the product I'm looking for. Do you have a brand name that is readily available in the shops or a selected retailer?
