Leaving caravan in France,What do i do?

Hi all,
we are thinking of leaving our van on site in the Alps for 12 months.
I know i will have to drain the water before we come away but what else should i do?
I will be leaving a snoboy awning up aswell, so i was thinking of putting the caravan on winter wheel and storing the road wheels in the awning.
What about the battery, do i remove it or just diconnect it?
Any advice welcome as we've not done this before and i'm sure a few on here have.

if you will not be visiting it for more than 3 months I would either bring home the battery &charge it every 2 months or leave the EHU connected. a battery will self discharge & over a period will probably die altogether
l would also remove the wheels & store them in the van
will your insurers cover the van for being left on site abroad, unattended for so long?? many will not
