An issue with the normal "wet" greases like Lithium Based ones is they attract the dirt and grit. Some recommend the "dry" greases sold for cycles and motorbike chains. I am still old school and use Castrol LM.

I was told never to use grease as it gets all the road grit stuck in it and jams the thread, always use oil or similar lube.

castrol chain lube, does the job on my bike and the chain gets more flung at it than the steadies. quick spray every now and again.

On the subject of grease, whats the best way to remove it from the steadies, mine is caked in it, was like it two years ago when I bought the van, every time I go away I wrap a plastic bag around the two on the awning side to stop it getting on the skirt and awning

Any Ideas?

This is the stuff dry film lube ( more expensive than grease )
Could have been an old photo, what they have used before, you see a lot of that on E-Bay, they advertise items & when they dont sell they just keep putting them back on again on long listings, it is a shop what is selling it....

Here is a larger choice of dry chain lube
