Leisure Battery

I have a couple of questions about Leisure batteries. I am relatively new to caravanning so please forgive my ignorance. I have a Geist AK495 and have recently had a 110amp leisure battery installed. In the battery box next to the hook up point is an isolator switch. Does this need to be on or off to receive a trickle charge from the either the car or mains hook up whilst on a site. I was told by the bloke who fitted it that it can be off but to be quite honest I don't think he was too sure.

Secondly, I have a 'rocker' power switch on the control panel, does this need to be flicked on to receive power whilst towing and if so is the power pulled from the car or battery. Again whilst on site does the mains hook up overide the leisure battery.

Many thanks Dave
