We bought an Elddis Autoquest 180 (06 erg) and am really enjoying the "the motorhome experience).The company we bought it fromr replaced the leisure battery,so we thought (I did check on the handover). I am away at the War & Peace show at the moment so no hook ups are available,the leisure battery will power items via a 3000 watt inverter for about 5 minutes then the low power alarm goes off. To cut the story short,a normal car battery had been installed instead of a leisure battery.After a few expletives,purchased a new leisure battery and all is well.

Obviously, in this case, the battery was faulty but in general some care needs to be taken with powering appliances through an inverter. Apart from the overhead of actually using the inverter some mains appliances can drain a leisure battery in a surprisingly short time.
We have 12 volt chargers for phones, netbook &c and Jill uses gas powered hair dressing appliances.
