Les Castels Le Brevedent site

Monkeyhanger - if there are just the two of you, and you could go the first week in September instead then you could use an ACSI card at Le Brevedent, making the 'all-in price' for two people 15 euros per night. The standard tariff at Le Brevedent obviously goes down then anyway, but using an ACSI card in September can still save you 34 euros per week over their normal tariff of 154 euros
It does get some good reviews on another website.
A couple of weeks difference in the timing of your holiday can make an enormous difference to the price you have to pay, not only for the site, but for the ferry crossings too.
 
We stayed there 3 years ago. A very good site with alot to do both at the site and the surrounding area.Some of the pitches can be a little cramped but luckily we had the super pitch so you get more room. Can't remember how much we paid but you are going in August when prices are at the highest.

unfortunatly due to the wife only been off at that time we will have to pay top money but where only going for a few nights anyway it sounds a good site so i dont mind paying.

Hi Monkey Hanger
Stayed there a few years back with a C&CC rally. Not a bad site with alovely swimming pool. Once you buy a French stick in the on-site shop, you'll be racing over there every morning to grab the first fresh warm ones... lovely.
The surrounding area has so much to offer. Try and visit some of the D-day beaches, excellent mueseam.

Watch out for the apple trees (great for apple charlotte or other puddings) - there were a lot when we went there some years ago. A very nice site but the price seems quite high for what it is bearing in mind there are only two of you. We went in low season and were lucky enough to be allowed to take up two pitches so that the van did not have to sit under an apple tree. The apples were bouncing off the roof of some vans which, even if you do not mind dents, is not something that you could perhaps sleep through. I do however remember that the owner invited all campers to join her for wine tasting and other events in the chateau once a week.

Over the last seven years we have stayed four times.
Very freindly, try and get a pitch in the orchard or lower part towards the chapel as the pitches are bigger than at the lakeside.
The village of blangy le chateau is just over a mile away (butcher,baker,veg,tabac, small hotel).
The small town of Cormeilles is about 4 miles (has a good restaurant at the Y junction cant remember name but reasonably
priced). Also a small supermarket on liseaux road. market day i`m certain is Friday.
Near the campsite towards Liseaux is a zoo-park have not been but others say it is good.
