I live in Cheshire England and am looking for my first motorhome! .. I know what I want - 4 berth, under 3 ton, Automatic, fixed rear bed etc but not sure if LHD would be better? :S
I have driven cars - both drives, in Europe and America and I know overtaking is the issue if your steering isn't on the correct side but being higher in a motorhome is this still a problem especially if I am travelling alone? Do side mirrors in motorhomes give you all round vision [I've driven horse boxes but only in England]
I will be returning to England about 3 times a year [so driving in England for about 3 months] to see family otherwise I will probably be travelling in France.

Would love to hear some experiences - especially if you haven't got a passenger to help :D

:Hi and welcome . If driving mostly on the continent, and alone, then I would definitely go for LHD.
We have RDH and use our van on the continent, but there are two of us, which makes it easier for the passenger to look behind when overtaking and pulling out in particular. Another point if you used tolls, could be a problem with being on the "wrong "side, to reach the ticket machine I as the passenger, have trouble reaching , if OH was alone , would have to get out of vehicle.
So go for LHD

LHD would seem to be a given if you tend to spend most of your time this side of the channel. On my infrequent trips to the UK with a LHD drive van I have yet to find any opportunity to overtake with or without a co driver!!!
