Having decided to go away over the Christmas and New year period and because of the cold I decided to change gas bottles to lightweight bottles of propane. This cost an additional £5 per bottle only to find out due to the lack of lightweight bottles in circulation when exchanging for refils could only find heavy bottles. This meant losing my new light bottles and rearranging the load for the return journey to keep the nose weight down. A real pain and costly lesson. I have since found out its possible to exchange heavy bottles for light if a supplier, say a petrol station, has some and at no additional cost when refilling, would this be wrong ??????

Not quite sure of exactly what you are saying. Calor, if that was your supplier, have fixed prices for their products, however, 3rd Party suppliers can increase the price asked if they feel it is appropriate. Small businesses may need to spend extra costs in having the cylinders etc etc.

The weight of gas supplied is often different between the lighter bottles and the normal steel ones. However, Calor do charge more per kg of gas for the lighter cylinders, eg patio cylinders contain 5kg gas and cost

What lite gas have you got. If you have BP lightgas all homebase stores supply them. I've been using mine for 2 years now with no problem with supplies.

My apolgioes Rod One. My post was not directed at you, but to Ian's original Post at the start of the thread. I was unsure of what he was trying to explain.

I accept I should have made that distinction clearer and apologise again.
