lightweight gas bottles

hi vanners, i have a 15kg calor gas bottle. can i exchange it for one of the new calorlite bottles, if so where? also are they any lighter than the trama or the new bp light bottles? thanks for any help. geoff

Not easy to get hold of the Calor Lite bottles at the moment due to production difficulties in Portugal I believe. I have decided to wait until they are a common sight and it will be easy to get refills - same with the others, how many outlets are there stocking them? They sound a great idea though.

Hi. Going to france soon so went to my local calor gas supplier and exchanged a Propane 6kg for one of the new light ones same size. They even have a gauge on the side so no more surprise run outs or exchanging prematurely.

I talked to a Calor agent on Sat with the thought of changing to Calorlite. The Agent(Who will be nameless) told me that he wouldn't bother to change as they were only about 1.5kg lighter and

Re the info given to John by nameless calor dealer about weight difference, according to Calor website a 6kg calorlite is 4.48kg lighter than ordinary propane 6kg cylinder not 1.5kg. That's nearly 9kgs if you have two cylinders.

Calor have a download available on their site of stockists of the light weight cylinders. I exchanged two butane 7kg cylinders last week for two calorlite,
