The Caravanning Club site at Crystal Palce is an excellent base for seeing London. It is located adjacent to the the remains of the old site of the Palace, plenty of green open space to walkabout. You can get the No 3 London Tranport Bus which will take you into the West End for a Fare Of

we found this the best of the london sites, the station at denham has attendent parking and the trains to london are about every 15min and are the overland carrage type. cheap combind family day tickets for the train in and all london transport. the airfield is not that bad and is worth a walk down to view whats going on. easy drive to hampton court and windsor. if you tire of london then the chilterns are with in easy reach. there are a couple of good pubs serving real ale and food in denham village and the village is worth a walk round. sadly its a drive through the town back towards the motorway.

John's reply regarding Crystal Palace sums it up perfectly. I have used this site on more than one occasion. I like the gravel hardstandings and the well maintained and clean shower blocks and toilets. As with all Caravan Club sites, there are very few other facilities, ie. bar, swimming pool, shop etc, but then I have only used this for weekend breaks. The bus service into London is excellent value and takes you to Westminster and Oxford Street. I tend to get the tube back to Brixton (Victoria Line) and then catch the No.3 bus from there as it is right outside the tube station. This is quicker than using the bus for the entire journey. It has the added advantage of being only five minutes drive away from Selhurst Park, home of the best premiership football club in England, Crystal Palace FC!!! Andy
