Is it possible to stay on sites for longer than the 28 days qouted by the CC and the C&CC?

We are moving to London for work and it will be two months before we can move into our new home. My wife will stay in our current home in Cambridge and I will go home for weekends, but want to use the van Mon- Fri to give me a more manageable commute to the office.

I would want to be close to the M3 ideally but anywhere Heathrow area/ Surrey would be OK? Can anyone advise if this is possible or would I legally only be able to stay for a 28 day period.

I'd rather be in my lovely Bailey than in a travellodge!

Cheers

Paul

I believe you are not supposed to leave your van unoccupied overnight unless you have a seasonal pitch. If you have a seasonal pitch you are not allowed to stay in it for more than 28 nights consecutively. I believe you have to vacate or move the van to another site for a day/night.Details of seasonal pitches are available from the CC.

All to do with planning permission.

However, if you get yourself a flatback truck and a lurcher you can stop where you want for as long as you want !

I agree, a caravan is home from home. I wouldn't thank you for a travel lodge or any other hotel, long term.

The limit on CC club sites is 21 nights. That's a commercial decision taken by the CC, not a statutory limitation.

A CC seasonal pitch would allow you to do what you require but some of their seasonal sites require a tow-off during the season.

The 28 night limit for CL / CS sites is a statutory limit which is a condition of their site licence exemption.
