loo venting

I have one of those new pot bogs and it is said to vent through the van floor. Well i had a water leak from the flush tank that was leaking and giving me a wet floor so had to take out the cassete and dry the compartment. There is a plastic cover with a hole in it that lines up with the vent hole in the cassette, but there is no hole in the van floor to vent it to outside , SHOULD THERE BE A HOLE CUT IN THE FLOOR ? .

Hello Graham,
Thank you for that information.
With both your questions, as the unit is still under warranty, and to get to the flush tank, it will require removal of the unit, which should be left to your dealer as they are not as easy as it may seem to remove.

At the same time it would be ideal to ask about how the venting system works.

Hi Graham, If your toilet has an automatic ventilator fitted the yes there should be a hole cut in the floor of the van, if you remove the holding tank,on the floor of the cassette compartment there should be a filter, which in turn has a small 12volt fan which is activated when the toilet is flushed, (you should be able to here the fan running when the flush is used) that disperses ant ordure's through the filter and out the floor of the van.
