John, not sure about that area the only dealers we have had any experience of so far have been Bann caravans and Downshire camping in Banbridge both have plenty of caravans to look at and always are very helpful but our favourite dealer has to be Newry Caravans we bought our recent caravan from there got a good trade in offer on old one and have had no problems with the new one, they are very helpful and there is a great selection of caravans to check out, they mostly have secondhand caravans but all well up the years and in very good condition.

Wee stevie might be able to suggest a few other dealers around the north coast area, i m sure he'll see your post and reply.

Good luck

John just be careful at Dorvic a few of our friends have had loads of hassle with their vans and they have not been very helpful. They were glad that Lunar have now changed dealers in NI.

One sales rep at Downshire treated us like dirt so I dont think I'll be using them again in a hurry. Just kept walking past us as if we werent there and then all smiles when he realised we actually were there to buy!! (Couple of years ago)

Hi John. Nice to see another local on here. I've always bought my caravans privately, three so far. When viewing at dealers I have been to Old Mill Caravans, Ballybogey, who don't even acknowledge that you're there, and Cookstown Caravans, who dont want to chat unless you want to buy new top of the range!! Private purchase for me every time! Emmy

Hi all, i am also from N Ireland had been brousing through the forum and seen this topic r/e dealers. I bought my Pageant series 6 Bertagne from Dorvic last April and had phoned ahead to make sure all was ready but to my suprise it wasent and i had a few choice words with the sales man, it got me off to a bad start especially when your are handing over a wad of cash. Had a few bits and pieces to sort my self as a trip to Dorvic is 140 mile round will be returning it for service to Dorvic in the next couple of weeks. is their anything I should be looking out for when getting the first service done. P.S A WORD OF WARNING THE LADY OWNNER DOSEN'T SEEM TO WANT TO KNOW ANYTIME I HAVE RANG AND APPEARS VERY UNHELPFULL. I HAVE RELASISED TO CALL ON COLIN THE SALES MAN HE WILL TALK TO YOU AN IS VERY HELPFULL.

Some great advice always available on this Forum

Thanks for reading.

Sean.

Well Jennie,

I am from Omagh, where do you come from? have been on the forum for a few years now posting and reading articles. Everyone is always keen to share their experiences and of course shame the dealers into giving us a BETTER SERVICE,they all want to know you when you are spending your hard earned cash but to me a good dealer should be their informed and ready to help when needed. I don't think that is to much to expect. Sure would be interested in hearing what you think Jennie on the new Pageant 6, berth when you see it. Mine is the fixed bunks at the rear bought new last year we like it well, the new layout looks lovey in the photos i have seen but will take a heafty tow vehicle to pull it.

nice to hear from you, Sean.

Hi Sean, we live in Kilkeel. We have been looking at fixed bed layouts for awhile but we have 3 kids and they just didn't have the room we need. Went to NEC show in October to see the Bailey Ranger 620/6 (fixed Bed) right layout just not the caravan we thought it would be so we are hoping that the pageant will be the one we want, like you only have seen it in pictures. We already have a twin axle so the weight and size is similar to the one we have.

Have you checked out the other post from Northern Ireland we are having a get together in Gosford in April ( maybe bit far for you to travel for weekend) but if not and you would like to join us just book and come along.

Keith & Jenny
