Hi and Welcome to Practical Caravan!
You'll probably find it diffcult to get a fixed bed model which still has the longer front benches - we've been looking for several years. We have a fixed bed Swift, and like most it has short seats at the front which can only be used to sleep on if made up into a double. I must admit we haven't looked at the very latest offerings, but until recently all the caravans with a fixed bed tended to have shorter front sofas. Perhaps someone who's seen the latest offerings may be able to help.
If you do find something then let me know!
All the best!

I'm off to the nec this week so will keep my eyes open. have you posted this in Buyers Guide section as you will get more replies. It tends to be Val, Sue, me and Parksy who form the regular welcoming committee on this bit.

Hi DJ , Welcome to the Practical Caravan forum. Models with fixed island beds and full lounges tended to be large twin axle models which need hefty towcars, are you looking to buy new or used?

Hello DJ, sorry, I missed you yesterday

Our last two vans had fixed beds with a fairly decent lounge area, they were Adrias. Having said that, the twin axle 642 had an L-shaped lounge which we wouldn't have again - if you have visitors round for a meal and have to eat inside when it's too cold to eat in the awning, the L-shape doesn't work very well.

We like the Adria fixed beds a lot - so much so that a couple of years ago we were within a hair's breadth of signing up for one - the Adora 612DT. It was only that I really took a dislike to the pushy salesman that we walked away. In some ways I regret it, but we still love our current Swift. However, if anyone's selling a decent example then .............................! We could use this layout as my sister and her family use our van - and the children could sleep in the rather sturdy bunks. It's a single axle, too.
The 612DT has a side fixed bed, though, but there is an island model, which almost has an en-suite - shower to one side, toilet compartment to the other.

hi. At the nec today. Went to look at Island bed layouts for you. Aside from the Adria, single axle layouts all had a compromise on the front lounge. TAs of course were better. Depends what you want to tow.

We have the Elddis Odyssey 534 on a single axle, with full length front seats and pull out front double bed, with the fixed rear bed.
We have been looking at the fixed island beds but they all seem to have the short front seats.
So we are at the moment keeping what we have.

Hello DJBailey,

We managed to find a 2007 Ace Supreme Globestar (Swift) which I think will also meet your requirements, it has the end island bed and new furnishings are still available for this caravan if you choose to change the upholstery which we have done, it is a twin axle model.
Regards.
