Not many good sites close to Cardiff. The nearest site to the City centre is a municipal site at Pontcanna, which is just a few minutes walk to the main shopping area and Civic centre.

We've not stayed at the site but have passed it a few times and it looks OK.

The site is on the side of extensive parkland with access to the Taff Trail for walking or cycling.

I dont know any details of cost but the phone number for the site is 029 20398362. If you need any more info let me know.

Stayed at the municipal site at Pontcanna for a Carling Cup Final. Not a scenic site but well adequate for central Cardiff. Ideal if you want to be in the city itself.

Pontcanna is the most central. Facilities OK but in need of a bit of updating. Having said that, every pitch had own water supply, which was a nice touch. Site has security cameras and a friendly manager. Lovely stroll into the city centre along the Taff - about 10 mins tops.

15 miles away is Tredegar House - really nice CC site. Need car to get to Cardiff, I would say, though.

Can't think of any others, sorry.

Frank, a couple of weeks ago you asked about sites near Cardiff. Here's one I'd forgotten about, although it's a brand new CL.

Coedarhyd-y-glyn, 01446 760889. It's on the western outskirts of the city, with good access to the city centre, and the Vale of Glamorgan. We haven't stayed there, but my daughter lives very close, and we have inspected the CL. No facilities, other than EHU, but views to die for.Easy access from the M4 J33.
